Unlike public social ledgers, your expenses in CashDash are not made public. They are stored securely and visible only to you through your authenticated account.
In order to use CashDash and enable features like Cloud Sync, you will need to create an account, which requires providing registration information such as name, email address, and phone number. We use this information to manage your account and keep your data synchronized across devices.

Information You Provide to Us
- Registration Information: When you sign up, you provide your name, email address, and phone number. We require an email address so that you can access your data from any device and we can contact you about your account.
- User-Generated Content: When using the service, you provide information concerning expenses, balances, and categories. This includes transaction descriptions, amounts, custom category names, budget limits, and notes. This data is processed to generate your visual spending rings and analytics.
- Feedback and Support: Any feedback, questions, or suggestions you send us are used to improve the service quality.
Automated Information Collection
- Device and Usage Information: We receive information about the device you use, your operating system, and app version. We also collect data on how you interact with CashDash — such as the features you use, the frequency of your entries, and overall app performance diagnostics.
- Location Information: We may receive approximate location data based on your IP address to ensure account security and regulatory compliance.
How We Use Your Data
We process your information to provide, support, and secure our service. Specific use cases include:
- Financial Visualization: To calculate and display your wallet balance ring and category-wise spending analytics.
- Account Synchronization: To ensure your financial history is available whenever you log in from a new device.
- Security Monitoring: To detect and protect against unauthorized access, fraud, or other criminal activity. We monitor suspicious login attempts and device IDs to protect your account.

Service Providers and Vendors
We use third-party service providers like Google Firebase to host our database (Firestore) and handle secure authentication. Data processed includes crash reports for bug fixing and encrypted authentication tokens.

We take the security of your financial data seriously. We use technical and administrative measures, including TLS encryption for data in transit and AES-256 encryption for data at rest within our cloud infrastructure.
Professional Ethics: We explicitly commit to not secretly tracking your location, not scanning your personal SMS/contacts, and not selling your financial behavior to data brokers.
Choice, Access & Data Retention
Your Choices
- Personal Information: You can review and update your name, email, and phone number at any time from your Account Settings.
- Notifications: You can opt-out of optional feature update emails while remaining subscribed to critical security notices.
Account Deletion
You may close your CashDash account at any time within the app (Profile → Delete Account). This results in the permanent removal of all personal and financial data from our active cloud servers. Once data is deleted, it is not retrievable.
Data Retention
We retain your information as long as necessary to serve you and as required by law. If you delete your account, we initiate a wipe of your records immediately, though some diagnostic logs may persist in anonymized form for a short period as part of standard server maintenance.
Changes to this Privacy Statement
We may update this Privacy Statement periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app alerts. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
